How can I get a girlfriend and/or loose my virginity soon?

I'm in high school, 17 going on 18, overweight (but not alot, 240 lb, 5'6 tall), not ugly but not exactly a "looker", never been on a date, never had a gf, never even kissed a girl, and not really well liked by the slutty ghetto hood rat chicks. So i try to compensate by being a nice guy. It works in the field of talking to girls, i can even (I guess you can call it "flirt") with some pretty girls. But i have this constant feeling that most of the girls wouldn't give me the time of day. And to my matters worse, my best friend is a lady magnet and could probably have sex anytime he wanted if he wasn't so emotional and religious. So i really feel like a loser. I have some principles though- don't care about race, dont care if she's hot, but needs to be pretty (at least to me), and can't be an airhead. So what should i do to get a gf and/or loose my virginity soon (like this school year)? I just really need to raise my self esteam. Should I compromise my principles? But i kinda feel like that wouldn't do anything.
